This itinerary covers areas of higher altitudes and includes activities where moderate walking, possibly on uneven terrain, is required.

Park accommodations are rustic yet comfortable with modest amenities and reflecting the natural surroundings of Yellowstone.  Televisions, radios, air conditioning, and swimming pools are not available. Internet service is available for purchase at some locations. Limited cellular telephone service is available at Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, Canyon, Grant and Mammoth Hot Springs villages.

Sun, June 23: Fly to Bozeman, Montana. Drive through Wyoming to the north side of Yellowstone National Park and check in to the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel for one night. Explore the area at leisure before dinner at the hotel. (Meal: Dinner)

Mon, June 24: Check out of the hotel and embark on your first day of guided touring in the park.  See the Mammoth Hot Spring Terraces, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone with the Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River, Yellowstone Lake and West Thumb areas. Conclude at Old Faithful Snow Lodge in Yellowstone National Park and check in for two nights. Enjoy some free time to explore at your leisure. The historic Old Faithful Inn is within walking distance of your hotel; and where you may take an historic tour of the Inn or take a seat on the outdoor deck to marvel at the famous geyser. Dinner is included in the Snow Lodge restaurant this evening. (B,L,D)

Tue, June 25: Continue touring the park with a local guide. Visit major attractions including Fountain Paint Pots, Norris Geyser Basin and the Upper Geyser Basin. Keep your eyes out for roaming buffalo and other wildlife sightings. (B,L,D)

Wed, June 26: Drive t0 Grand Teton National Park, stopping for a casual lunch before taking an interpretive float trip on the Snake River. Discover the majesty of the park as you unhurriedly move along the river, learning about the wildlife, history, and geology of the area from your guide. The most prominent and impressive peaks in the Teton Range are ever present as you enjoy the beautiful scenery and view wildlife within the heart of the park. Continue to Jackson, Wyoming and check in to The Lexington at Jackson Hole for two nights. Your hotel is conveniently located in the center of town making for easy exploring at leisure and finding a great spot for dinner on your own. (B,L)

Thu, June 27: This morning, enjoy some free time to explore Jackson and have lunch on your own. This afternoon, transfer to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to take the tram up Rendezvous Mountain. At the top, see the incredible 360-degree views of Jackson Hole, the Snake River Valley, Grand Teton National Park, and the staggering summit of the park. Then depart to experience the spirit of the old west with an evening chuckwagon meal and authentic cowboy entertainment. In the 1800’s, cowboys rode the western range, and every long, hard day in the saddle was followed by an evening meal, tall tales, and music around the chuckwagon. Transport back to these days gone by as you a ride along on the wagon trail to the cowboy camp where you’ll be enveloped by mouthwatering aromas and western harmonies. A western village gift shop awaits to grab those last-minute souvenirs before you return to the hotel. (B,D)

Fri, June 28: Following breakfast in the hotel, check out and transfer to the airport in Jackson, Wyoming for your flights home. (B)

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Located on the north side of the park and named after the nearby springs, Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel recently underwent major renovations. This 1936 hotel features a signature Map Room that is now a full bar with musical delights. Look for elk from your premium lodge room window as they often graze on the lawn outside the hotel. Highlights: in-room coffee/tea maker, refrigerator • complimentary WiFi Internet access • restaurant • bar. Televisions, radios, and air conditioning are not available in park lodging.

Old Faithful Snow Lodge, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The Snow Lodge, located close to Old Faithful geyser, is made of wooden log columns with a cedar shingle roof on top, and has been recognized with the Cody Award for Western Design. The premium lodge rooms were completed in 1999 and feature western lodge-style furnishings. Highlights: in-room coffee/tea maker, refrigerator • complimentary WiFi Internet access • restaurant. Televisions, radios, and air conditioning are not available in park lodging.

The Rockwell Inn Jackson, Wyoming. Formerly known as the Lexington at Jackson Hole, this boutique hotel is just steps away from historic downtown Jackson and half a block from a stop for the free town shuttle.
