This tour is the perfect combination of the relaxed atmosphere of a seven-day cruise plus the highlights of an Alaska land tour. Enjoy a four-night land tour from Fairbanks to Anchorage, traveling via deluxe motorcoach to Denali National Park for two nights. Continue to Anchorage via deluxe domed rail car. Board the ms Noordam in Seward to embark on a glorious seven-night Glacier Discovery cruise that includes Glacier Bay National Park, Haines (Skagway), Juneau, Ketchikan and cruising the Inside Passage.

Wed, July 5: Fly to Fairbanks and overnight downtown.

Thu, July 6: Fairbanks & Denali National Park. Today’s full day of sightseeing includes a cruise aboard the sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery III. Visit a recreated Athabascan Indian village, pet a sled dog (or two) and observe a bush pilot demonstration. Depart by motorcoach for Denali National Park and overnight at McKinley Chalets on the Nenana River for two nights. Use your Ambassadair “your choice” excursion or enjoy an evening on your own. Fri, July 7: Denali National Park. Embark on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Travel 53 miles deep into Denali National Park, home to North America’s highest peak, Denali (formerly Mount McKinley). The park is home to wildlife such as grizzlies, Dall sheep, moose and caribou. Remainder of the day you are free to enjoy optional activities such as flightseeing, river rafting or horseback riding. Sat, July 8: Anchorage. All aboard Holland America’s award-winning McKinley Explorer train as you traverse the Great Land. Enjoy an included lunch on the train. Check into a downtown Anchorage hotel. (L)

Sun, July 9: Board the ms Noordam. Join fellow travelers at a private Welcome Breakfast. Travel the scenic Seward Highway along the Turnagain Arm to board Holland America’s ms Noordam. (B, D)

Mon, July 10: at sea. Relax and enjoy the shipboard activities. (B,L,D)

Tue, July 11: Glacier National Park. Sail in Glacier Bay National Park. Cruise the waters surrounded by jagged snow-covered mountain peaks. The ship stops in front of the magnificent glaciers, and there is plenty of time to watch and listen to the glaciers calving. (B,L,D)

Wed, July 12: Haines & Skagway. Experience the activities in and around Haines, including rafting, hiking, fishing or sightseeing, or opt to explore the nearby port of Skagway, a picturesque Gold Rush town. A not-to-be-missed highlight in Skagway is the White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway. A water transfer is required in order to travel from Haines to Skagway. (B,L,D)

Thu, July 13: Juneau. Cruise to Juneau, the state capital of Alaska, accessible by air or water only. With its bounty of water, forests, mountains and glaciers, Juneau offers a variety of optional activities. Highlights include the Taku Glacier Lodge, Feast & Five Glacier Seaplane excursion, a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Icefields, whale watching, rafting, fishing, dog sledding and hiking. Fri, July 14: Ketchikan. Arrive in Ketchikan, located in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Optional activities include a flightseeing trip to the Misty Fjords National Monument, an excursion on the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman’s adventure, a sightseeing trip to explore Totem Bight State Park or Saxman Village to see the world’s largest collection of totem poles. Sat, July 15: at sea. Enjoy a day at sea, cruising the Inside Passage. (B,L,D)

Sun, July 16: Vancouver. Arrive in Vancouver, British Columbia, disembark after breakfast and transfer to the Vancouver or Seattle airport for return flights to Indianapolis. (B)

Sun, July 16: After disembarking the ship, check into your deluxe downtown hotel and explore beautiful Vancouver on your own.

Tue, Jul 18: Transfer to Vancouver’s airport for your return flight to Indianapolis.
