Itinerary Hotel

Wed, Apr 26: Depart Indianapolis for Newark, New Jersey. Transfer to New York City with a guided sightseeing tour en route to your Times Square hotel. Check into the New York Marriott Marquis for three nights. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Thu, Apr 27: A full day is yours to explore New York City on your own. Meet in the evening to attend the Broadway musical, Anastasia. Based on the 1997 animated movie, Anastasia spans the twilight of the Russian Empire to the glamour of 1920s Paris. The story follows an orphaned amnesiac, Anya, who claims to be the youngest daughter of Russia’s last Tsar, Nicholas II. The production has added 16 new numbers to the movie’s songs.

Fri, Apr 28: Today enjoy another free day to explore the city or catch a matinee. Tonight, regroup to see Bette Midler in Hello, Dolly! The story is based on the book The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder. Midler plays one of the most beloved characters in American Musical Comedy, Dolly Levi, a matchmaker in 1890s New York City. David Hyde Pierce (Niles Crane in TV’s Frasier and Sir Robin in Broadway’s Monty Python’s Spamalot) stars as Horace Vandergelder, the object of her “meddling” and affections.

Sat, Apr 29: After checking out of the hotel, visit the New York Botanical Gardens, hosting a Chihuly glass art exhibit with a botanical backdrop. New hand-blown glass sculptures, created specifically for NYBG, will highlight the connections of artwork to the natural world. Celebrating 125 years of garden history, the New York Botanical Garden is an iconic living museum and, since its founding in 1891, has served as an oasis in this busy metropolis. As a National Historic Landmark, this 250-acre site’s verdant landscape supports over one million living plants in extensive collections. Wander through this colorful wonderland and enjoy lunch on your own prior to evening flight home.
