Wed, June 7: Depart Indianapolis for Branson. Stop for dinner at Lambert’s, the home of the “throwed rolls” on the way into town. Check into the Hotel Grand Victorian, then tonight step out on the town for an evening show.
Thu, June 8: Today’s adventures begin with a visit to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. Step aboard the open-air tram and wind through the canyon floor past towering bluffs and waterfalls. Stop to feed rainbow trout and continue into Arkansas to see herds of bison, elk and longhorn cattle. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the canyon. Check out the new grist mill, museum and gift shop before heading to Table Rock Lake for a dinner cruise on board the Showboat Branson Belle! Last stop of the day, but worth stopping for – The Duttons. The Duttons are a family full of international recording artists who perform bluegrass to classical music and everything in between. Their personally created and produced performance features a variety of instruments, including violin, guitar, bass, viola, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica, and drums, among others. They have garnered awards in national fiddling contests, classical violin competitions, and as studio musicians. In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, they are also accomplished singers and dancers!Following the show, we step into the ice cream shop next door for a treat and a visit from a few Dutton family members.
Fri, June 9: This morning a nostalgic Tribute to John Denver will take you down memory lane before your free afternoon in downtown Branson and Branson Landing. The historic downtown offers plenty of antique shops and the old five and dime, and just across the street are the modern shops of Branson Landing, overlooking Lake Taneycomo and home to Bass Pro Shop. Take time for lunch on your own, and free time to see an afternoon show at the historic Owen Theater or “Ride the Ducks” from the landing. Dinner this evening takes us to the campus of the College of the Ozarks, where the culinary students here will tantalize your taste buds with their creations! The tour culminates with the powerful production of Moses at the Sight & Sound Theatre with live animals and elaborate sets.
Sat, June 10: Return home with a stop at St James Winery and St. Charles, Missouri en route.
