Tue, Aug 22: Depart Indianapolis for Sturgeon Bay with a stop in Racine, Wisconsin to tour a Danish bakery and see how kringle pastry is made. Late afternoon check into the Bridgeport Waterfront Resort, located on Sturgeon Bay at Lake Michigan. The waterfront hotel is located by the marina and has access to walking paths along the lakeshore. Sturgeon Bay is on this year's "Happiest Seaside Towns in America," according to Coastal Living magazine. Tonight, enjoy a group dinner. (Meal: Dinner)
Wed, Aug 23: Morning at leisure to explore Sturgeon Bay on your own or to simply enjoy the resort. Consider visiting the Door County Historical Museum for insight to the area’s rich heritage. Board the Fred A. Busse, originally designed as a City of Chicago fireboat, and cruise through the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal and to the Sherwood Point Lighthouse (weather permitting). Learn about shipbuilding at the nearby Maritime Museum, and tour the Tug John Purves, built in 1919 for the U.S. Shipping Board in response to the needs of WWI. Spend some free time in Egg Harbor then enjoy a performance by the Peninsula Players. Known as the “Theatre in a Garden” the open sided pavilion is a unique blend of live theater and beautiful views of cedar forests, gardens and waterfront. (B,L)
Thu, Aug 24: Travel to Bailey’s Harbor for a tour of Bjorklunden’s Boynton Chapel, handcrafted in a 12th-century Norwegian style and ornately decorated with hand-carved woodwork and 41 hand-painted frescoes. Transfer to Sister Bay for lunch at the popular Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant and Butik, where goats graze on the grass-topped roof! Enjoy some free time in Fish Creek before a visit to Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market for a tour of the orchards, vineyards and production area. Cap off the tour with wine tasting of the estate-grown pure fruit and traditional grape varieties. Transfer to Ephraim for a traditional fish boil at the Old Post Office Restaurant, a historic building built in the late 1800’s that boasts of a magnificent view of the blue waters of Ephraim’s Eagle Harbor. Mild, delicate whitefish fresh from the waters of Lake Michigan is prepared outdoors in a boiling kettle while you watch. A slice of fresh cherry pie concludes the meal. (B,L,D)

Spend a little time in the historic mill town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin with more than 100 registered historic buildings, charming specialty stores, art galleries, cozy restaurants, and historic inns.
