Alaska Explorer Cruise

Holland America Line

June 8-16, 2018

Fri / Sat - 9 Days

The ideal trip for cruising fun in Alaska … begins in Seattle! Spend a night in downtown Seattle, close to many of the city’s popular attractions. Pike Place Market, the oldest continually operating farmers market in the country, features fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, gorgeous flowers and arts and crafts as far as the eye can see; always bustling with activity!

While in the hometown of Boeing, visit The Museum of Flight, one of the largest air and space museums in the world. You’ll be fascinated as you sail out of lovely Puget Sound on your way to the icy-blue glaciers and charming frontier ports of our northern-most state. Cruise through Glacier Bay National Park, where a unique ecosystem of plants and animals live in concert with an ever-changing glacial landscape and tidewater glaciers calve more actively than anyplace else in the world. Listen closely. It’s not really thunder you’re hearing; it’s actually the sound ice makes when it breaks away from a glacier and falls into the sea. The impact shoots water hundreds of feet into the air!

In Juneau, Alaska’s capital city, numerous adventures await. You can take a tram ride to the top of Mount Roberts for stunning views of the city and mountains; take a helicopter flight or motorcoach ride to nearby Mendenhall Glacier; or enjoy a whale-watching cruise. Cruise to Sitka, considered the most beautiful of Southeast Alaska’s towns and cities, and stand on the spot where the United States took possession of Alaska in 1867. Opt for a floatplane flight-seeing trip in Ketchikan, where you’ll witness breathtaking views of Misty Fjords National Monument. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, explore the Totem Poles in the lush Tongass National Forest or visit the shops and art galleries along Creek Street.*
