Sun, Sep 10: Depart Indianapolis via motorcoach for Spring Green, Wisconsin. Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth with a tour of Taliesin, his home overlooking the Wisconsin River. First designed in 1911, Wright continually changed it until his death in 1959. The home was his primary residence and a laboratory for architectural designs and innovations. It is surrounded by a 600-acre estate. After dinner, head for Tomah and check into your hotel for one night. (Meals: Dinner)
Mon, Sep 11: Check out of your hotel and transfer to Warrens for a tour of a cranberry marsh and production facilities of the Wetherby Cranberry Company, which was founded in 1903. Wisconsin is responsible for 60% of the worlds’ production of cranberries and you will learn more about the states number one fruit crop at the Cranberry Discovery Center. The exhibit hall details the history of the state’s cranberry industry from the days when Native Americans gathered wild fruit to today’s unique growing and harvesting methods, and the gift shop features a large selection of Wisconsin-made cranberry products. Savor a lunch with some cranberry selections before transferring to the Wisconsin Dells. A scenic boat cruise in the Upper Dells passes under pine-crowned cliffs, winding river narrows and sandstone formations such as Chimney Rock and Romance Cliff. Experience Witches Gulch with a spectacular walk filled with fern glens, shadowy passages and hidden whirlpool chambers. Enjoy a group dinner before heading to Lake Geneva and checking into the luxurious Grand Geneva Resort & Spa for two nights. (B,L,D)
