Sun, Dec 30: Arrive in New Orleans, Louisiana. Make your way to the French Market for lunch and maybe a beignet or two then see the city highlights on a guided tour.After checking in to your French Quarter hotel, you’ll have free time for dinner followed by an escapade to City Park and the Celebration in the Oaks. This magical, winter spectacle showcases oak trees sparkling with thousands of lights along with brilliant light displays throughout the 25 acres of City Park. Enjoy some hot chocolate or buttered rum while visiting this famous holiday wonderland.
Mon, Dec 31: Start the party! Celebrating New Year’s Eve in New Orleans is special to say the least. All day celebrations are yours to take part in during your free time– including a Mardi Gras-style parade through the city. After a celebratory dinner at your hotel, you’ll have front row seats to the New Year’s Eve midnight display of fireworks while on board the SteamboatNatchez. Tue, Jan 1: Enjoy a leisurely morning then visit the #2 ranked museum not only in the USA, but in the World – the National World War II Museum. Wed, Jan 2: Go back in time and take a stroll through a 300-year-old alley of oak trees at Oak Alley Plantation. Get a feel for the history of the antebellum south with a guided tour of the Big House and by exploring the Slavery at Oak Alley exhibit, Civil War exhibit and Sugarcane Theater.
