Find peace and tranquility in New Harmony, Indiana. Nestled along the Wabash River, this little town in the most southwest area of Indiana offers a chance to relax, stroll among historic labyrinths, gardens, and quaint streets. Founded in 1814, the Harmony Society built a spiritual place, which was later developed by the Owens who attempted a utopian society where education, research, and civil harmony was at the forefront. Learn about the great contributions some of its residents have given society while touring the historical buildings and gardens. Most gardens and activities are in walking distance of your home-base at the New Harmony Inn, or you can rent a golf cart to explore the area. Not only will you find quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants, but a sense of peace and serenity, too, as you meander through town or take a rest in one of several gardens and labyrinths. Graceful trees and flowers invite you to slow down and take in the beauty of Harmonist Labyrinth, Tillich Park, and the amazing Cathedral Labyrinth.
