Overview

Hawaii, the ever-popular Polynesian paradise of unbridled beauty is still one of the world’s top vacation destinations offering an abundance of things to do and see!

Start with two nights in a hotel near famous Waikiki Beach. An excursion to Pearl Harbor and the exhibits at the USS Arizona Memorial* are included with a city tour of Honolulu. Then, set sail on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America, United States-flagged and crewed and the only big ship allowed to sail these Hawaiian waters without touching a foreign port. Set off from Oahu and cruise the Big Island of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai — all without having to unpack to see each island.

Daily optional excursions will enhance your experience, and with two ports on the Big Island and port overnights in both Maui and Kauai, you’ll have the extra time and freedom to choose more than just one excursion on each island.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Freestyle Cruising mentality means your time on board is less structured, giving you the flexibility to create your own dining experience, choosing from 14 restaurants, and the liberty to dress up, dress down, or have pizza delivered to your stateroom.

Sail through paradise at your own pace, creating the Hawaiian experience that is perfect for you!

*The USS Arizona Memorial (sunken ship) viewing platform is currently undergoing renovations. The exhibits and museums are still open to visitors. Should the repairs be complete by these travel dates, your ticket will include this attraction as well.

Itinerary

Thu, Feb 20: Fly to Honolulu, Oahu. Transfer to your hotel and spend two nights near Waikiki Beach

Fri, Feb 21: Take an included tour of Pearl Harbor and the exhibits at the USS Arizona Memorial. Afterward, head downtown for a narrated tour of Honolulu’s highlights, including Punchbowl National Cemetery and Iolani Palace. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are at your leisure.

Sat, Feb 22: Board Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America in Honolulu and slip into a relaxed frame of mind, knowing you won’t have to unpack to island-hop for the rest of the trip

Sun, Feb 23: Kahului, Maui. Considered the most magical and romantic of the islands, Maui is full of lush mountains and rainforests that complement the tropical beaches. Many people choose to see the island’s diverse beauty on a helicopter ride, spying hidden waterfalls in the jungle. Staying overnight on the ship means you can rise before dawn for the ritual sunrise journey to the top of Mount Haleakala. Or sleep in and spend the next day on the beach, kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, or hiking.

Mon, Feb 24: Maui. Spend another day exploring the magical charms of Maui.

Tue, Feb 25: Hilo, Hawaii (the “Big Island”) On the island of Hawaii, many visitors head for Volcanoes National Park, a surreal landscape of lava tubes, fire pits, and an active volcano! You can even take a 45-minute helicopter ride over the smoking Mount Kilauea. Optional shore excursions include Volcanoes National Park, Circle of Fire by Helicopter; Zipline through Paradise, Journey to Mauna Kea.

Wed, Feb 26: Kona, Hawaii. The Kona District on the Big Island is the gateway to the sunny western coast, where you may take a drive through rolling green pastures, visit sacred sites, or snorkel in a protected marine preserve. Kona is also home to several coffee plantations, Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park, and Kealakekua Bay, where Captain James Cook first set foot on the island in 1778. Optional shore excursions include Kona Mocha Coffee Country, Captain Zodiac Snorkel & Dolphin Adventure, Gold Coast & Cloud Forest, Magical Seahorse Discovery, Parasailing in Paradise.

Thu, Feb 27: Nawiliwili, Kauai The tropical paradise of the island of Kauai is ruggedly beautiful and remote (enough that it made an ideal setting for Jurassic Park). Swim underneath a waterfall, visit Fern Grotto and take in the splendor of Waimea Canyon, a sight you have to see to believe. The same can be said for the Na Pali coast — board a smaller boat to sail the coastline edged with 4,000-foot-tall cliffs.

Fri, Feb 28: Kauai. Enjoy a second day to discover more of this lush tropical island. This afternoon, cruise the Napali Coast.

Sat, Mar 1: Oahu. Disembark in Honolulu and transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.

Sun, Mar 2: Arrive home in the morning.
