Itinerary

Tue, Feb 4: Fly to Palm Springs, California. Enjoy a relaxing Welcome Lunch then take a tour of Palm Springs and learn about the history as well as the arts and cultural scene. Once known as “Hollywood’s Playground,” Palm Springs has been home to Hollywood stars like Bob Hope and the Rat Pack. See the homes of old as well as current movie stars and hear fun stories that go along with them! Check in to the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel. (Meal: Lunch)

Wed, Feb 5: Today is about the scenery! Take a break while riding the Aerial Tramway over two miles along the majestic cliffs of Chino Canyon. Rotating slowly, this ten-minute tram ride to Mount San Jacinto State Park allows you to grasp a complete view of the spectacular valley below, granite peaks, and rugged wilderness. At 8,516 feet, you reach the Mountain Station where you’ll find a museum, theaters, a gift shop, hiking trails, and observation decks to explore. Next, visit the Palm Springs Air Museum, which contains one of the largest collections of World War II warplanes. The Museum specializes in aircraft from World War II, Korea and the Vietnam Wars — many of which were built in Southern California and are still in flyable condition. Return to the hotel for your evening at leisure. (B)

Thu, Feb 6: Need more time to relax? Go ahead. Today is full of free time or an optional Jeep tour to see the San Andreas Fault. Your naturalist guide will inform you about the plants, animals, geology, and history of the California desert while heading to the fault area. Hopping out of the Jeep, you’ll walk between the deep canyon walls created by the powerful force of nature, see a natural oasis, and learn about the lives and how the Cahuilla people used the desert and all it offered to live. Top the night off with a Farewell Dinner and attend the VillageFest Street Party featuring arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. (B,D)
