Find peace and tranquility in New Harmony, Indiana. Nestled along the Wabash River, this little town in the most southwest area of Indiana offers a chance to relax and stroll among historic labyrinths, gardens, and quaint streets. Founded in 1814, the Harmony Society built a spiritual place, which was later developed by the Owens who attempted a utopian society where education, research, and civil harmony were at the forefront. Learn about the great contributions some of its residents have given society while touring the historical buildings and gardens. Most gardens and activities are in walking distance of your home-base at the New Harmony Inn, or you can rent a golf cart to explore the area. Not only will you find quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants, but a sense of peace and serenity, too, as you meander through town or take a rest in one of several gardens and labyrinths. Graceful trees and flowers invite you to slow down and take in the beauty of Harmonist Labyrinth, Tillich Park, and the amazing Cathedral Labyrinth.

The peace and tranquility continues as you travel to French Lick, Indiana. The French Lick Resort consists of two historic hotels, three challenging golf courses, two rejuvenating spas, and a casino. The French Lick Springs and West Baden Springs hotels were the iconic symbols of great economic achievement for rural southern Indiana, which became a famed vacation and gathering place for wealthy and prominent society members. Today, they offer a fascinating window into the grand hotel era of the early 20th century and the tradition of “taking the waters.” Built more than a century ago and once called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the West Baden Springs Hotel is a dazzling sight, from the atrium to the majestic dome spanning 200 feet above.
