Wed, Nov 6:  Tulsa, once called “Magic City” and the south’s “Most Beautiful City,” has a powerful and moving story that can be seen through its past and present. A local guide will take you on a journey to discover its rich history in the oil boom, Route 66 notoriety, and art deco architecture. After you check in to the downtown Tulsa hotel, enjoy dinner at a traditional style diner located on Historic Route 66 that has received numerous awards and attention as a great place to eat. (Meal: Dinner)

Thur, Nov 7: Spend the morning in the Brady Arts District. This diverse, eclectic, and culturally robust area of Tulsa offers shops, restaurants, museums, and performing venues. Step into Glacier Confection and learn the art of creating beautiful chocolates. Visit the home of Waite and Genevieve Phillips, an Oklahoma oil pioneer, that is now called the Philbrook Museum of Art and Gardens. The essence of Tuscany surrounds you as you explore the 25-acre gardens and are led through the museum by a docent. Enjoy an included dinner.   (B, D)

Fri, Nov 8: Travel to Pawhuska to The Pioneer Woman Mercantile located on Main Street in the heart of Osage County. Ree and Ladd Drummond spent years renovating the hundred-year-old mercantile building that is now home to gorgeous goods, comfort foods, fresh-made pastries, and delicious coffee. Try some of Ree’s recipes first hand for lunch; delight in soup, salad, and sandwiches. See the rich history and culture that is an inspiration for the show by touring the Osage Hills and prairie with a local guide as you travel to The Lodge on Drummond Ranch. The Lodge is the family guest house and also serves as the production location for Ree’s Food Network show. Return to Tulsa with a stop at Mother Road Market for dinner, where local and unique food can be found all in one building!  (B, L)

Sat, Nov 9:  This morning, tour the Gilcrease Museum of American History and Art, named for Thomas Gilcrease, an oil man and avid art collector, who began the collection. Nestled in the Osage Hills, the museum contains the world’s largest, most comprehensive collection of American West art, as well as a growing collection of art and artifacts from Central and South America. Using the collections as a guide, themed gardens have been developed on 23 of the museum’s 460 acres. Transfer to the Tulsa Airport for your afternoon flight home.  (B)
