Fri, Aug 5: Fly to Vancouver, British Columbia. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver en route to your downtown hotel.

Sat, Aug 6: Enjoy the morning exploring Vancouver on your own. Later, board Holland America Line’s ms Koningsdam for scenic cruising as you set sail under Lions Gate Bridge towards Alaska. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Sun, Aug 7: Enjoy a day at sea cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage. Spend the day as you wish; check the ship’s daily activity roster and plan your day! Choose an interesting culinary demonstration or a listen to a lecture, relax with a good book or visit the spa. Plan shore excursions for upcoming ports of call and take some time to familiarize yourself with the ship. (B,L,D)

Mon, Aug 8: This morning, before the afternoon arrival in  to Juneau, an optional tour to Tracy Arm Fjord is offered from the ship via catamaran. Nestled between 3,000-foot-high granite walls, the narrow, twisting slice of ocean called Tracy Arm Fjord weaves through the Tongass National Forest for roughly 35 miles. The shoreline is spotted with waterfalls, created by melting snowcaps, and trees sprouting at odd angles from rocky outcroppings. The dramatic twin Sawyer Glaciers at the end of Tracy Arm are framed by mountains on either side and are often bathed in a light mist that amplifies the blue hue of the glacial ice. The glaciers are home to wildlife such as bears, wolves, and moose; while the fjord’s icy waters are popular playground for the seals and whales. Then, cruise to Juneau, the state capital of Alaska. With its bounty of water, forests, mountains, and glaciers, Juneau offers a variety of optional activities. Optional excursions include the Taku Glacier Lodge, Feast & Five Glacier Seaplane excursion, a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Icefields, whale watching, flightseeing, rafting, fishing, dog sledding, and hiking. Tue, Aug 9: Port in the picturesque Gold Rush town of Skagway. A not-to-be-missed highlight in Skagway is the White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway. Other optional excursions include glacier helicopter flightseeing, hiking, or sightseeing tours. (B,L,D)

Wed, Aug 10: Spend the day enjoying the gorgeous scenery while watching and listening for calving glaciers as you cruise in Glacier Bay National Park. National Park Rangers will be on board to educate you on the importance of this area and to help you spot seals, sea lions, sea otters, and whales as you navigate through this spectacular waterway. Thu, Aug 11: Discover Ketchikan, located in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Optional activities include a flightseeing trip to the Misty Fjords National Monument, a Bering Sea Crab Fisherman’s adventure, a sightseeing trip to explore Totem Bight State Park, or Saxman Native Village to see the world’s largest collection of totem poles. Meander along historic Creek Street, once Ketchikan’s “red light” district, now lined with unique shops and art galleries. (B,L,D)

Fri, Aug 12: Enjoy another day at sea, cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage. (B,L,D)

Sat, Aug 13: Disembark in Vancouver and fly home.   Due to cruise disembarkation, flight departures must be later than 11:00 a.m. Flights departing in the afternoon or evening may arrive the following morning Eastern Daylight Time. (B)
