Thu, May 22: Depart Indianapolis for Petersburg, Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum. In the beginning, God created….. and now the pages of the Bible come to life in this state-of-the-art museum. Journey from the dawn of creation and throughout biblical history to the present day with stunning exhibits! Then, step outside and find yourself surrounded by botanical gardens, a petting zoo, a zip line course and more. The museum is impressive and a delight for one and all to see. Enjoy an included lunch at your leisure during the visit. Next, head to Newport for an overnight stay on the riverfront and a delightful dinner cruise. Board the Belle of Cincinnati—tastefully decorated and impeccably preserved, she is full of riverboat-era charm. Following the meal, take a dance with your partner, step out onto the deck to breathe in the night air or visit the covered third deck which offers a great view of the city as well as a bar and gift shop. Fri, May 23: After breakfast at the hotel travel south to continue the trek into biblical history at the Ark Encounter, featuring a full-size Noah’s Ark built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old! A buffet lunch is included at their onsite restaurant, Emzara’s. Depart towards Lexington, “Horse Capital of the World”, with a stop at the fitting Kentucky Horse Park. This working horse farm doubles as an educational theme park, as well as a competition facility, and its International Museum of the Horse is the largest equestrian museum in the world. The sprawling property has plenty to see and experience! Continue to your accommodations for the night, the Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa. Dinner is included with your fellow travelers at the hotel. Sat, May 24: Enjoy a leisurely morning unwinding at the resort before venturing out to another unique gem of bluegrass country, the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Founded in 1806 as a communal settlement, the village is home to 34 original 19th century buildings and is the largest National Historic Landmark in Kentucky. Enjoy a delicious seed-to-table lunch served with warm hospitality, learn about the history and values of the Shaker movement on a guided village tour, and a musical presentation to top off the day.
