Fri, Oct 3: Fly from Indianapolis to Toronto, Canada. Begin your journey in this vibrant city, capital of the province of Ontario and largest city in Canada. Take in the many different architectural styles, from early 19th-century buildings to modern 21st-century skyscrapers, diverse neighborhoods, and vibrant shopping and entertainment districts. Enjoy luxurious accommodations at one of the city’s finest hotels, The Westin Harbour Castle, centrally located near top attractions such as the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, and the lively Distillery District. Tue, Oct 7: Arrive in enchanting Québec City, Québec, Canada’s oldest city. Wander the fortified walls of Old Québec, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with narrow cobblestone streets and charming little alleyways reminiscent of a European city. Lower Town is best explored on foot to adequately discover the pedestrian area known as Petit Champlain, home to an array of boutiques, specialty shops, cafés and strolling musicians. A short ride on the Old Québec Funicular will escort you into the Upper Town where you’ll find the castle-like Chateau Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace, one of the best-known landmarks in the city. Fri, Oct 10: Today discover Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. There is plenty to do in this postcard-perfect seaside city! Embark on an included panoramic tour with a local guide. Stroll through town, shop in the boutiques and admire the many wonderful examples of Victorian architecture along the aptly named Victoria Row. The gothic revival spires of St. Dunstan’s Basilica overlook downtown and are a popular site for photographers. Known as the birthplace of L.M. Montgomery, the author of the Anne of Green Gables books, fans will find a wonderful collection of all things “Anne” such as dolls, books and unique souvenirs. (B,L,D)
Sat, Oct 11: Dock in the town of Pictou, Nova Scotia, known as “The Birthplace of New Scotland”. The first wave of Scottish settlers arrived on its shores aboard the sailing ship Hector over 250 years ago, receiving help from the Mi’kmaw people; and this tradition of genuine hospitality continues to thrive in the town today! Mon, Oct 13: Arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia for a full day to discover the rich history of this city that is known for pirates, shipwrecks and rum-running, as well as its warm hospitality. If you leave Halifax proper, a favorite destination is Peggy’s Cove—an artists’ and explorers’ paradise for more than 150 years.
