Vermont Summer Getaway
The hills are alive at the von Trapp Family Lodge!
The hills are alive with the sound of music… in Vermont! Spend four nights at the von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort, located in scenic Stowe, with a host of activities from guided walks and horse-drawn carriage rides to pretzel making and cooking demonstrations. In the early 1940s, the von Trapp family toured the United States as the Trapp Family Singers before settling in Stowe—whose picturesque beauty and stunning mountain vistas reminded them of their beloved Austria. The family later welcomed guests into their home and lodge. Today the 2,600-acre property is still owned and operated by the von Trapp family!
Venture into charming towns and cross covered bridges dotting the countryside. Enjoy excursions to charming and historic towns and villages, including Stowe, Quechee, and Waterbury, for opportunities to sample some of Vermont’s tastiest treats and time to shop at delightful local stores. A tour of Cold Hollow Cider Mill will grant you the chance to try their world-famous cider doughnuts. Sample Vermont’s most famous treat, maple syrup, at a local farm.
Cruise along glittering Lake Champlain as the captain shares local folklore and be on the lookout for the Lake’s greatest secret, “Champ,” the great lake monster! A gondola ride to the top of Mount Mansfield at the Stowe Mountain Resort will leave you in awe with breathtaking views of lovely vistas, the Green Mountains, and beyond.
With so much to do and see in beautiful Vermont, you’re sure to struggle saying “so long, farewell, Aufwiedersehen, goodbye” at tour’s end!
