Sail250 – Virginia Tall Ships
Celebrating America’s 250th
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth—a history greatly tied to Virginia’s historic coast. To mark this momentous occasion, Sail250 will perform a grand nautical ceremony, the Parade of Sail, with over 60 ships from 20 different countries set to enter the harbors of Norfolk, Hampton Roads, and Chesapeake Bay. Attend this-once-in-a-lifetime experience and watch as a fleet of historic character vessels, international tall ships, and state-of-the-art military crafts sail into the harbor, performing an especially grand entrance with the annual Parade of Sail. 2026 also marks the 50th anniversary of Norfolk’s Harborfest, a festival celebrating the historic city’s naval and maritime history. Enjoy traditional festival activities and tour the tall ships docked in the harbor.
Your adventures will also take you to the Jamestown Settlement, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach, where you’ll explore local attractions connecting you to America’s beginnings.
Join us for this unforgettable journey through history, heritage, and heart as we honor America’s 250th birthday where the first permanent settlement laid the foundation for our nation’s future.
