Tue, Nov 10: Fly to New York City and head to Times Square to check into your home for the next four nights, the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square, in the heart of all the action. The evening is yours to enjoy! Relax in the hotel, make reservations at their newly reopened rooftop restaurant, get tickets to a Broadway show, or just get acclimated with your surroundings in Times Square.
Wed, Nov 11: Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel before taking a deep dive through over 120 years of history exploring the secrets and stories of Time Square’s New Victory Theater. See rare historic photos and hear outstanding stories as the theater comes to life before your eyes! From Oscar Hammerstein to Harry Houdini, opera to burlesque, horses on center stage to cows on the roof—this tour has surprises waiting around every corner. Hear how a show comes to life—from the first rehearsal through opening night—and the wild stories that happen along the way. Explore the legends of lingering spirits as Broadway’s past and present converge vividly before your eyes. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure with time to see a matinee on your own or visit one of many nearby attractions. Regroup this evening to see a Broadway musical. (Meals: Breakfast)
Thu, Nov 12: A day of discovery awaits, bringing to light some of New York City’s earliest performance connections, starting with a visit to The Players, a historic private social club still housed in its beautifully preserved Gramercy Park mansion, one of the oldest clubs still in its original location. Founded in 1888 by renowned Shakespearean actor Edwin Booth, it was created to give actors a place away from theater glamour. A docent led tour leads you through this living museum filled with rare theatrical memorabilia and carefully maintained rooms that have hosted generations of famous icons. Following the tour, you’ll gain more knowledge from a local guide before lunch at an iconic restaurant with Broadway connections. Return to Times Square for time to freshen up before having dinner on your own. The day culminates with another Broadway performance. (B,L)
Fri, Nov 13: Meet an actor from a Broadway show this morning to walk through stories of their personal trek to stardom! Then take your orchestra seat to the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular! Afterward, spend some time exploring Rockefeller Center where you’ll see decorations for the holiday season beginning to emerge. An included dinner is followed by the last performance of the tour. Sat, Nov 14: A classic New York Style brunch awaits before heading to Newark Airport for your flight to Indianapolis. (BR)
