Enjoy dinner and a musical performance at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre and see a powerful Biblical story come to life onstage at the Sight & Sound Theatre. Visit Hershey, Pennsylvania, also known as “Chocolatetown, USA” for a historical trolley tour and chocolate tasting! See a fascinating collection of historic locomotives and railroad cars at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and sit back and relax on a steam train ride through the countryside. Tour an authentic 1840’s Amish farmhouse and village, along with Wheatland, a presidential homestead. Have plenty of time to shop for Amish goods and taste delicious home-style meals and sweet treats along the way!

Mon, May 3: Depart Indianapolis by motorcoach. Stop in Walnut Creek, Ohio for your first Amish exposure—lunch at Der Dutchman. Enjoy a home cooked meal, with scratch-made pastries sourced from local farms. Following lunch, visit Walnut Creek Cheese, a popular Amish market. Drive into Pennsylvania to overnight in the Pittsburgh area. (Meals: Lunch)

Tue, May 4: Enjoy breakfast before heading to Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Enjoy a chocolate tasting and learn about the life and times of Milton S. Hershey on a trolley tour around town. Have lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Hershey Story Museum to dive deeper into the chocolate company, Hershey’s generous philanthropic legacy and the town that bears his name. Continue through the idyllic countryside to Lancaster and check into the Eden Resort & Suites for three nights. Dinner will be included tonight at the hotel. (B,L,D)

Wed, May 5: After an included breakfast at the hotel depart for The Amish Village to take a guided tour of an authentic 1840’s farmhouse and learn about the modern Amish lifestyle. Then have time on your own to explore the 12-acre village that includes a one-room schoolhouse and real Amish buggies. Take in the farmlands and fresh air before departing for Kitchen Kettle Village. Explore the offerings of 40 distinct merchants with everything from handmade quilts to homemade jams and jellies, as well as delicious food options for lunch. On your own, shop, take a buggy ride, take a lesson in pretzel twisting, or watch as some of the local women prepare their made-from-scratch products. This evening, enjoy dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, celebrating their 40th anniversary season in 2027. Dine on their award-winning food before settling in for Grease!, complete with all the 1978 film’s musical hits that became the soundtrack of a generation. Following a fun-filled evening, retire to your Lancaster hotel. (B,D)

Thu, May 6: Begin today at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, one of the top such museums in the world, and discover a fascinating, world-class collection of more than 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, as well as the art, artifacts, and captivating personal stories of Pennsylvania’s rich railroad heritage. Next, ride on the Strasburg Railroad, America’s oldest continuously operating railroad. Enjoy lunch as you traverse the tranquil countryside, with more than 2500 acres of farmland visible from your window! An audio commentary provides interesting history and information about the authentic steam locomotives and passenger cars, and the surrounding area. Then take your seat for a state-of-the-art theatrical production at Sight & Sound Theatre. JONAH brings to life one of the most powerful stories in the Bible, full of colorful characters, magnificent sets, live animals and amazing special effects! After the show enjoy a delicious Pennsylvania Dutch meal and hometown hospitality at the Hershey Farm Restaurant. (B,L,D)

Fri, May 7: Check out of the hotel this morning and transfer to Wheatland, the former homestead of James Buchanan, our 15th president. Walk through the Federal-style home and hear stories of the life and times of our only bachelor president. Afterwards enjoy free time at America’s oldest continuously running farmers’ market, Lancaster Central Market, located in a beautiful 120-year-old red brick building chock-full of local character. Take time for lunch and exploration in this long-time social gathering place for the Amish and area residents. Then it’s time to wave goodbye to Lancaster, heading west towards home with an overnight stay near Wheeling, West Virginia. (B)

Sat, May 8: Breakfast is included this morning prior to departure. Stop in Columbus, Ohio’s German Village for a farewell lunch with the group and free time before continuing to Indianapolis. (B,L)
