Overview

The vibrant colors last only a few fleeting weeks, but the magic of fall is breathtaking to witness in Upper Michigan and the Agawa Canyon in Ontario, Canada. Only the hardiest made this rugged land their home and the marks of the Ojibwe, fur traders, lumber jacks, and prospectors are barely discernible in this unspoiled wilderness. Learn about this fascinating region while traveling by train over towering trestles and through the awesome granite rock formations of Agawa Canyon. Relax in the peaceful serenity of Mackinac Island while viewing leaves in brilliant reds and golden oranges mixed with a touch of green. Watch as large vessels safely traverse the 21-foot drop in elevation of the St. Mary’s River between Lake Superior and Lakes Michigan and Huron, then experience the Soo Locks in person while on a cruise.
