Your adventure starts in Philadelphia, known as the “City of Brotherly Love.” Philly is legendary for its cheesesteak, but it is also home to a collection of celebrated museums and fascinating history. Mon, Nov 18: Arrive in the city of brotherly love and kick off the trip with a food tour of Remington Market. Known for the cheesesteak and the soft pretzel, see how these Philadelphia classics became icons of the city. Following lunch on your own at the market, enjoy a city tour including a drive along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Champs Elysees of Philadelphia, and ending at the famous “Rocky stairs” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Check into the luxurious, and centrally located, Notary Hotel, and enjoy a Welcome Cocktail this evening with the group.

Tues, Nov 19: Start the day with a look at the fascinating history that led to the birth of this country, at the highly acclaimed Museum of the American Revolution, and gain an appreciation for how America came to be through historical accounts and interactive exhibits. After lunch at a local Irish pub, step back in time with a guided walking tour. Walk the footsteps of our founding fathers with a visit to the Betsy Ross house and Independence National Historic Park including the Liberty Bell. The rest of the afternoon is yours to take in any number of the renowned museums, walk through historic neighborhoods or indulge in culinary delights. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)

Wed, Nov 20: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before touring the fascinating Eastern State Penitentiary. Once the most famous prison in the country, it has housed the likes of Al Capone and Freda Frost. Allow your guide to share stories of the past, and walk through the unique architecture of this massive structure. After the tour, continue on through the rolling hills and farms to Lancaster. This evening, enjoy dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. White Christmas tells the story of a singing foursome who come together in a unique set of circumstances to save a Vermont inn that has fallen on hard times. After the inspiring musical ends retire to your hotel after a fun-filled evening. (B,D)

Thu, Nov 21: Breakfast is included this morning before visiting the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, one of the top such museums in the world, and discover a fascinating, world-class collection of more than 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, as well as the art, artifacts, and captivating personal stories of Pennsylvania’s rich railroad heritage. Make a stop at Kitchen Kettle Village and explore the offerings of 40 distinct merchants with everything from handmade quilts to homemade jams and jellies, as well as delicious food options for lunch. On your own, shop, take a buggy ride, take a lesson in pretzel twisting, or watch as some of the local women prepare their made-from-scratch products. Then take your seat for the brand-new original production of Daniel. From the fiery furnace to the infamous den on lions, Daniel is a spectacular entertainment experience for people of all ages! Sight & Sound Theatre brings to life one of the most hope-filled stories in the Bible, full of colorful characters, beautiful sets, and amazing special effects! After the show enjoy a delicious Pennsylvania Dutch meal and hometown hospitality at Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord. (B,D)

Fri, Nov 22: This morning, at your leisure, make a visit to the Lancaster Central Market. Located across the street from the hotel, grab an Amish baked treat for the road or any last gifts to bring home. Keep the sweet treats coming with a visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. See the park in all of its holiday glory this time of year! Partake in a chocolate tasting, peruse the grounds and shops, and learn about the life and times of Milton Hershey on a trolley tour. Say good-bye to Pennsylvania, and return to Indianapolis this evening. (B)
