Ambergris Caye, Belize

Simple Pleasures on the Caribbean’s Western Coast

  • Date

    February 1-8, 2025 | Sat / Sat – 8 Days

  • Location

    Ramon’s Village Resort

Overview

Life on Ambergris Caye is laidback and casual, and shoes are optional. From beautiful azure waters and white sand beaches to ancient Mayan ruins, tropical rainforests, and hundreds of limestone caves, there is something here for everyone.

Ramon’s Village Resort is one of the oldest resorts in San Pedro, opened in 1982, and built to resemble the tropical cottages you’d expect to find on Bora Bora or other destinations within French Polynesia. The resort has a freeform pool that is the focal point and hangout spot in the afternoons, as well as an idyllic stretch of beach with lounge chairs, perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Belize also has the second largest coral reef in the world—only the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia is larger—and this reef has made the little town of San Pedro the dive and water sports capital of Central America. Snorkel or dive along the reef to see exotic fish and beautiful corals. Explore the island, go sports fishing, or play in the waters in a kayak or sailboat. Or head for a day trip to the mainland to tour one of the Mayan ruins, go cave tubing, or zipline across the rainforest canopy. Stay in a modern thatched-roof cabana at Ramon’s Village Resort, an oasis on the white coral sandy beach, surrounded by coconut palms, colorful bougainvillea, and hibiscus.
