Opryland is nine acres of indoor gardens, cascading waterfalls, shopping, entertainment, dining, all decked out at Christmastime with more than two million lights, horse-drawn carriages, decorative attractions, and festival events. Merry delights abound on a city tour of Nashville and spectacular holiday entertainment—including a production at the Grand Ole Opry and a Christmas dinner show.

Prepare to be awed by the lavishly decorated Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina—America’s largest private home. This 250-room French Renaissance chateau, was built between 1889 and 1895 by George Washington Vanderbilt II, and touts itself as “bigger and grander” than its counterparts in Rhode Island and New York. Explore the amazing intricacies of this “little mountain escape” at your own pace on a daytime tour. Then, as night falls, be amazed as the holiday magic comes alive by candlelight.

Wed, Dec 4: Depart Indianapolis for Nashville, Tennessee, known across the nation as Music City! On the outskirts of town, the music is already playing at Fiddle Dee Farms where you’ll be welcomed with lunch and a fun holiday show. Continue to Gaylord Opryland to immerse yourself into the holiday festivities of the 9-acre resort, transformed into a winter wonderland. Check in and spend some time exploring at leisure.  Tonight, celebrate the holidays with a fantastic Christmas dinner show at the resort. More performance details coming soon! (Meal: Lunch, Dinner)

Thu, Dec 5: Following a hot breakfast, set out on a narrated tour of “Music City” with a musical local guide providing enlightening narration and a few tunes along the way! Take in this magical city all decked out in holiday cheer, learn about the preservation of the Old Ryman Auditorium, drive through Music Row, and see the Parthenon—a full-scale replica of the original in Athens. Culminate with some free time for lunch at leisure at Assembly Food Hall where the food choices are amazing and endless! Head back to the resort to experience ICE! where you’ll be surrounded by a stunning display of ice sculptures created by over 40 artisans. Relax and refresh or take in more of the attractions at the resort, use your ticket for the Delta River Flatboat experience, and have dinner on your own before rejoining the group to attend an Opry Country Christmas production at the Grand Ole Opry. Fri, Dec 6: Depart Nashville after breakfast for the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, check into the newly renovated Embassy Suites downtown. You’ll be steps from Grove Arcade—opened in 1929 by E.W. Grove and built to celebrate the city he loved so much. Its rich history, ornate architecture, and eclectic mix of shops and restaurants were designed to offer patrons full immersion into Asheville lifestyle and culture. Be sure to take the time to stop in, and get settled at the hotel before heading out for an elegant evening at a Candlelight Christmas viewing of the Biltmore, where the grand rooms come to life with candles, twinkling Christmas lights, and musicians filling the halls with the sounds of the season. Finish the day with a Candlelight dinner at the Biltmore’s Stable Café. (B,D)

Sat, Dec 7: The morning greets you with a hearty breakfast before returning to the magnificent Biltmore Estate for more exploration. Specially curated for Biltmore, a new installation by artist Dale Chihuly awaits your discovery within the intimate gallery setting of Amherst at Deerpark® on the grounds. At Antler Village, connect the estate’s present to the past with historical exhibits, a plethora of dining options for lunch, and time to shop for unique holiday gifts. The day also includes a daytime tour of the historic mansion to discover at your own pace with an audio guide leading you room-by-room, sharing stories of Biltmore’s former residents and employees plus highlights of the home’s art and architecture. Later, Gingerbread masterpieces, themed Christmas trees, thousands of glimmering lights, roaring fireplaces, and a festive buffet dinner awaits at The Omni Grove Park Inn, the headquarters of the National Gingerbread House Competition.
